SIM 2021

SKG at SIM in Lille
Important exhibition for extractive industries

Krefeld, November, 2021

From October 20th to 22nd, 2021 Siempelkamp Giesserei was present at SIM in Lille, France - an exhibition of the French Congrès de la Société de l'Industrie Minérale. Together with P. van der Wegen Gears BV from Tilburg / Netherlands, Siempelkamp Giesserei used SIM as the most important contact point for trade visitors from the mining industry in France. The trade show offers interested visitors the opportunity to view the know-how, service, and products of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) as well as suppliers in this sector in a bundled way. This year, more than 3,100 visitors were on site to maintain contact with over 1,500 exhibitors at 306 booths.

Partnership with P. van der Wegen Gears BV

After the first trade fair cooperation in Kazakhstan in 2019, SIM formed the second trade fair in which Siempelkamp Foundry was represented with P. van der Wegen Gears BV as a trade fair partner. The common denominator: in the field of gear production from nodular cast iron with an outer diameter of up to 16 m and a raw casting weight of up to 200 tons as well as a tempered up to 320 HB, only a few manufacturers are present on the market worldwide. The Siempelkamp Foundry and P. van der Wegen Gears not only belong to this small circle, but in this combination form the current benchmark for the very demanding product.

Cooperation with perspective

“Our many years of experience in meeting the extremely high material requirements to the point is a sustainable basis for the constantly high demand for gears from customers represented worldwide. This strategic cooperation with one of the world's technically strongest and highest-quality mechanical processors for gear machining gives us a sustainably successful perspective in this area,” says Dirk Howe, Managing Director of Siempelkamp Giesserei, who considers SIM 2021 a complete success in terms of audience response.
