New strategies, new management

Siempelkamp Foundry and Siempelkamp Metallurgy
Synergies identified, potentials exploited

Krefeld, Oktober 25

After 25 years of independent management of Siempelkamp Giesserei GmbH and Siempelkamp Metallurgie GmbH, both sister companies are again managed by a joint management since February 2020. Represented by the two managing directors Dirk Howe and Dr. Georg Geier, both companies work successfully under one roof and established new strategies.

Both companies have succeeded in initiating a significant turnaround. The focus is on developing new entrepreneurial perspectives and strategies. “Thanks to the consistent implementation of our new corporate model, we have already succeeded in establishing a strategically oriented presence in a highly competitive market segment,” says Dirk Howe.

What exactly are the new strategies targeted at? “Innovative approaches and solutions to specific customer requests and the optimization of cutting concepts are opening up new opportunities for us in our markets. Increasing mechanization in this area is also a key success factor. With our technical expertise and production experience from the foundry, we have rethought the entire process and optimized melting in particular.  We are using the increased diversification and internationalization to successfully and sustainably establish our strategy on the market,” says Dr. Georg Geier.

Dirk Howe adds: “Both management teams work together excellently. Synergies have been identified in all key areas and potential for team-oriented cooperation has been exploited.”

Dr. Inga Maren Tragsdorf
New operations manager at Siempelkamp Metallurgie GmbH

Since the beginning of the second quarter of 2021, Dr. Inga Maren Tragsdorf has been involved as the new operations manager at Siempelkamp Metallurgie. After studying mechanical engineering with a specialization in reactor safety and technology at RWTH Aachen University, she began her doctoral research at Forschungszentrum Jülich and received her PhD from RWTH Aachen University in 2005. Subsequently, she worked at the chair for three years and was appointed lecturer for radiation protection in nuclear technology. In 2007 she joined former Siempelkamp Nukleartechnik and subsequently took over the management of the staff unit casks technology. Already in this function, she and her team worked very well together with the team of Siempelkamp Giesserei.

Dr. Inga Maren Tragsdorf is now concentrating on the further technical development of the melting store “CARLA” and thus on improving the market position of Siempelkamp Metallurgie. “As a result, it is not only a matter of optimizing existing processes, but also of advancing customer development through new business areas. This is an important building block in our newly established and demonstrably successful sales strategy,” says Dirk Howe.
