GIFA 2023

Bright World of Metals 2023
Experience with 3D rollercoaster

Krefeld, July 4, 2023

Finally, the time had come again: from June 12 to 16, 2023, Bright World of Metals took place again in the Düsseldorf exhibition halls after 2019. The event bundles the trade fair quartet of GIFA, NEWCAST, METEC and THERMPROCESS. At these leading trade fairs, national and international metallurgical and foundry technology was presented to an audience that had traveled from all over the world. Siempelkamp Giesserei (SGK) was also present - and how!

Innovative booth
Great attention and excellent attendance

In keeping with the industry, the summer temperatures outside also made things hot at our booth and in the 12 exhibition halls. Over the five days of the trade show, almost 2,200 exhibitors from 56 countries offered an enormous spectrum of machines, plants and solutions that reflected the power and relevance of the metallurgical industry. Forward-looking impulses were at the forefront of many discussions and talks on trend-setting topics such as sustainability and artificial intelligence.

The prominent core topics were omnipresent at the Siempelkamp Giesserei booth and could not be overlooked. The claims “DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION” and “MISSION GREEN” integrated into our booth design were eye-catchers visible from afar. “We are thus clearly demonstrating that we are further expanding our benchmark position in large and thick wall casting vis-à-vis the international competition. Our foundry is no longer just traditional, but a modern, digitally positioned and innovative company, with which we are facing the new challenges in terms of sustainability, social responsibility for employees and climate protection with conviction. At our core, it's about successfully balancing social and environmental responsibility with commercial success”, says Dirk Howe, SGK Managing Director.

Our conclusion:
Great Siempelkamp success

See you again in 2027!

Another highlight for the guests at the booth was a virtual roller coaster ride through our digital foundry. With the help of VR glasses, all those interested were able to immerse themselves three-dimensionally in the “foundry amusement park”. Sitting securely on a chair, the animated ride, but with the incomparable gut feeling of a real roller coaster, became a real experience. Steep curves past the furnace stage, loops over the crane runway or through an oversized ship engine block not infrequently produced audible and visible reactions, depending on the selected difficulty level. For all passengers, this was great fun that generated pure enthusiasm - an absolute trade show highlight.

Our trade fair summary: Over all five days of the trade fair, we had many discussions with interesting perspectives, made new contacts and deepened existing connections. “The Bright World of Metals: International showcase and meeting point for our industry - Thanks to our super dedicated trade fair team, we did everything right. Great Siempelkamp success. See you again in 2027!”, Dirk Howe summarizes.
